Thurisaz has always been more then just heavy songs with distorted guitars, growls and screams. There's also a softer, more emotional side of Thurisaz... Often acoustic songs with mainly clean vocals and emotional lyrics. We never wanted to play those songs live though, because we felt that playing them amongst the heavier songs wouldn't do the songs justice. Throughout the years though we realised that a lot of the fans apreciate this other side of Thurisaz. That's why, in september 2013, we decided it was time for a new challenge. We didn't want to bring the songs literally as they were recorded, but wanted to add something extra that would raise the songs a few levels. We decided to bring a total experience, in a cool venue, with live projections, an awesome lightshow and of course additional strings. It was also a chance to pay hommage to the bands that influenced us. It took us 9 months of hard work, but in the end we gave birth to something beautiful that made it all worthwhile...
We sincerly hope you will enjoy listening and watching this show as much as we enjoyed playing it. A big thanks to the many people that made this possible!!!

Australian band Aquilus smashes genre boundaries to smithereens, combining classical orchestration with black metal on this riveting LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 13, 2021
Another Album that spread its songs across some playlists of mine, but I actually never bought the album.
And than I wonder why... I look them up... I realize the album is already sitting in my wishlist and simply got forgotten under all the other stuff which is piling up there.
I feel a bit ashamed because Obsidian Arc is on of those album that just seem "complete" with the right amount variety... it is taking me back to the habbit of listening an album as a whole, not as its fragment.
